Second, the threat web is dense: KOB simultaneously opens four attacking paths, the armbar, the cross choke, the guillotine, and the north-south transition. The bottom player has to defend all four at once, which is why a position this simple produces such a steady stream of mistakes.

Third, fatigue accumulates under pin pressure: KOB is not about making the opponent tap immediately, it is about burning their oxygen and glycogen over 30–60 seconds so that they arrive at the next position already fatigued.
